Rattling Stick's Pete Riski directs heartwarming new spot to raise awareness of rescue dogs
Dogs Trust have launched a new campaign that aims to get thousands of rescue dogs their second chance at a happy home. Created by Kitcatt Nohr, customer engagement and relationship specialists, the #specialsomeone campaign hopes to raise awareness of rescue dogs and persuade anyone thinking of getting a dog to visit a Dogs Trust centre and change a rescue dog’s life forever.
Kitcatt Nohr and Dogs Trust research highlighted a significant trend in dog purchasing behaviour. The growing trend in buying new dogs online has, to an extent, resulted in the rescue dog being forgotten by all but a very special type of dog owner. We describe these people as ‘Quiet Heroes’. People who would never consider themselves heroes but to the dogs they rehome they’re life changers; a special someone. The #specialsomeone campaign aims to overcome the buying trend by bringing to life just how important a special someone is to the dogs they rehome.
The #Specialsomeone campaign will run across TV, Press and digital channels.
Simon Martin, Creative Director at Kitcatt Nohr said: “Our goal for #SpecialSomeone was to emotionally connect with people, and motivate them by giving them a role in helping Dogs Trust achieve their mission. Our creative idea focuses on real, scruffy, funny, but loveable dogs, and what YOU and Dogs Trust can do to change their world.”
Marketing Director at Dogs Trust, Nick Daniel added: “There’s a quote that ‘Saving one dog will not change the world, but for that one dog, the world will change forever’ I think that the Kitcatt Nohr ad really brings this to life. And, with roughly 1,500 dogs at our centres today, we’re hoping to see those special someones visiting our centres soon”.
