Boutique colour correction studio Rare Medium today announces the promotion of Stephanie Park to colourist.
Stephanie began her career at The Mill as a runner, working her way up to colour assist. From there, she moved on to Rare Medium, where was a senior colour assist before moving up to junior colourist.
During her time at Rare Medium, Stephanie has had the opportunity to grade a number of notable projects. These range between an
Elon Musk deepfake spot, in which he delivers a PSA from Mars in an apocalyptic future, a
surreal short which sees Maya Hawke of ‘Stranger Things’ transform into a fish, and a summer-inspired
one-take live performance from rapper Latto.
Now as a colourist, Stephanie is looking forward to establishing her name in the industry, and meeting potential collaborators.
Stephanie Park comments: “I’m very excited to start my journey as a colourist at Rare Medium. It’s my second family at this point - being a small group helps us form a strong support system and stay true to who we are creatively. Many of us worked together before the company started, but I really admire the fact that the team aspires to grow and give a chance to people (like me!) to advance in their career. Thanks to our entire team for believing in me, and I can’t wait to work on projects in the upcoming years. Stay tuned!”
Heath Raymond, managing partner at Rare Medium, adds: “Stephanie was Rare Medium’s first hire. As an assistant colourist she was highly motivated, calm under pressure and smarter than all of us. We wouldn’t be where we are without her natural understanding of the colour pipeline and her love of the craft. We can’t wait to see what she does next.”
