Digital agency Pound & Grain today announced the hiring of Penny Norman as its new Planning Director and Client Lead. Penny brings more than ten years creative experience by working at top agencies in the U.K. In her new role, Penny will be responsible for uncovering consumer insights to foster work that is relevant and effective in influencing the right audience.
"We are thrilled to welcome Penny to the Pound & Grain team,” said Sandy Fleischer, Managing Partner of Pound & Grain. “Her passion, drive, unlimited talent, global experience and accomplishments make her the ideal person for this role. We've got a lot of exciting mandates and opportunities on our plate now, and undoubtedly there will be more to come in the future. Having Penny as a key player on our team is huge for us."
As Pound & Grain’s new Planning Director and Client Lead, Penny will be bringing her insights and planning skills to Pound & Grain’s client roster and work for TELUS, BC Dairy Association, MEC, YYoga, Whil, CTV, CMT, Rick Hansen Foundation, and Gentle Fawn.
“What attracted me to Pound & Grain is their point of view on utility-based marketing,” said Penny. “Their belief that the strongest connections between a consumer and a brand occur when consumers get something they value is a winning proposition, and one that will deliver strong client results.”
Penny got her start in the creative field after winning a place on the Publicis London graduate scheme after she graduated from the University of Edinburgh. There she learned the artistry and science of advertising by working on brands such as Nestle and United Biscuits. After her two years with Publicis, she worked as an account director at London’s largest agency, AMV BBDO, where she worked on brands such as Procter & Gamble, Clarks Shoes, AVIVA, Royal Mail and EDF Energy.
In 2012, Penny took a trip “across the pond” to find something more accommodating to her love for outdoor life. Preceding her position at Pound & Grain, Penny led the MTS, Money Mart, and Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation accounts as well as new business initiatives at DARE.
