Ogilvy UK’s chief people officer, Elaine Grell, and director of consumer equality, Shelina Janmohamed, have both been recognised in the annual Heroes Role Models lists for 2023.
Compiled by inclusion and diversity company INvolve, Grell and Janmohamed are included for their significant contributions to both Ogilvy UK, and the wider creative sector, when it comes to raising awareness around gender diversity and inclusion at work.
The list, supported by YouTube, aims to champion women in business and those advocating for change. They were also selected by nine judges that included executives across KPMG, IBM and Ariel Investments.
Shelina Janmohamed, director of consumer equality, said, “It’s humbling and a privilege to be recognised as a Hero, but an award is never the destination. To me it’s a platform for making greater impact and change. Going into 2024, I’ll use this recognition to ensure that my work in consumer equality, as well as societal and cultural storytelling, is accelerated and amplified. It’s important to celebrate recognition, but I also know that it’s fuel to drive change.”
Elaine Grell, chief people officer, said, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be recognised in the HERoes Women Role Model Lists. Not just to be included, but to be in the same space as other inspirational women who’ve made huge impacts to their industries. Role models show us the art of the possible and that leaders in business don’t all look the same. I hope the lists encourage our future leaders to get curious about both themselves and the backgrounds they’re surrounded by at work that are shaping today’s world.”
