When Porsche Netherlands handed NM Talents’ photographer Mirko Westerbrink the keys to a Taycan for the weekend, the result was nothing short of magic. With no elaborate setups or big crews, Mirko embraced the moment, shooting entirely solo on a Leica Q3. The entire process was a freestyle affair, led by instinct and inspired by the sleek design of the car itself.
Mirko teamed up with long-time collaborator Niklas Axelsson, a Swedish re-toucher, to create a distinctive film inspired look during post production. “It was just the two of us, but the experience was great,” said Mirko. “I got in contact with Porsche Netherlands as I wanted to talk about the possibility of a new project. After quite a bit of talking they decided at the last minute to kindly ‘lend’ me the new Porsche Taycan. It was the perfect opportunity to try something different, something you don’t often see in Porsche campaigns. I wanted to keep things simple, so I grabbed my Leica Q3 and hit the road. The fixed 28mm lens pushed me to get creative with the angles and framing of the car, which was a challenge I really enjoyed. No tripods, no big setups, just me, the camera, and the surroundings. To bring it all together, I collaborated with Niklas Axelsson, who added a stunning analogue inspired finish in post-production. I’m really proud of how it has turned out. Something fresh, unique, and true to the spirit of the Taycan.”
A beautifully cinematic series that feels as effortless as it looks, perfectly capturing the spirit of the Porsche Taycan.
