FCB Health Network announced today that Sebastian Mallarino has joined Neon as group creative director, beginning work in April.
A native of Colombia, Mallarino brings more than 15 years of advertising and marketing experience to the FCB Health Network. He became the first creative in Colombia to be awarded a Cannes Lions Grand Prix and two Grand Effies. His work has also been recognised by D&AD, El Sol, El Ojo de Iberoamérica and Nova Creative Awards.
Throughout his career, he has created award-winning work across a variety of top global brands and clients such as GSK, Boehringer Ingelheim, Unilever, P&G, Uber, DirecTV, Volvo, Volkswagen, Pernod Ricard and Coca-Cola, to name a few.
“2019 marked a decade since Neon first launched under the FCB Health Network umbrella, and they continue to raise the bar for the industry with their laser focus on hiring the best talent from anywhere in the world,” said Dana Maiman, FCB Health Network president and CEO. “Their continued success can be attributed first and foremost to this tremendous talent, and Sebastian will contribute mightily to that powerful creative depth.”
“We scoured the four corners of the globe to find the absolute right talent for this role,” added Kevin McHale, Neon co-managing director and executive creative director. “We’re incredibly excited to have Sebastian on board to help drive Neon’s success into the future.”
Prior to joining Neon, Mallarino spent over 11 years at Grey, where, under his leadership as creative vice president, Grey Colombia became the most awarded agency in the country in 2017 and was ranked the most creative operation in the network. Mallarino has been involved in a variety of creative fields since 1995, including multimedia works, television, theatre and film, and he even started his own multimedia agency when he was only 15 years old.
Commenting on joining Neon, Mallarino said: “I am excited to be joining the FCB Health Network at such a momentous time. I was attracted to Neon’s core belief that ‘killer ideas save lives,’ and I’m thrilled to be in a position where I can help us continue to build on our remarkable achievements.”
