The Immortal Awards juror offers firsthand insight on Dove's Real Beauty Sketches
There are less than three weeks left to enter this year's Immortal Awards and, in the run up to the September 10th entry deadline, our jurors have been taking it in turns to select the ads and campaigns that are most immortal to them, revealing the reasons why they've stayed with them until this day.
Next up is Claudio Lima, chief creative officer of Brasil and LATAM for Cheil Worldwide Brazil, who opts for a campaign that had universal appeal and a hugely positive impact...
Dove 'Real Beauty Sketches' (Ogilvy & Mather, 2013)
Everyone remembers Dove's Real Beauty Sketches. Every creative wishes they had done that and I'm sure every brand in the world would want to have a piece like that in the air right now.
Something that was directed at women, but spoke to every audience, that had a global appeal and was understood by consumers in all places. It’s a rare thing when that happens, when creativity can be translated and understood to deliver a single brand message to everyone across the world in a meaningful way.
Besides that I know personally the team involved in creating and making Dove Beauty Sketches happen and could see firsthand how an immortal piece of work can have a positive impact in your career and in the agency, generating new opportunities and bringing in the brands and clients that see a piece of work like this and aim to do something as great.
