M&M’s Red Would Do Almost Anything for Love

Today Mars Chocolate North America unveiled a new M&M’S® Brand 30 second television commercial featuring actress Naya Rivera and the M&M’S character, Red. The spot aired during the first quarter of Super Bowl XLVII on CBS as part of the brand’s new integrated marketing campaign, ‘Better With M™,’ which showcases how M&M’S irresistible chocolate makes moments more fun and delicious.

 

 

The ad, created by BBDO New York, features the popular M&M’S character falling all over himself to showcase his commitment to Rivera while belting out the popular song, “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That).” The relationship comes into question when Rivera can’t resist adding her milk chocolate beau to some of her favorite treats, including cookies, cake and ice cream.  She even goes as far as asking him to get inside a piñata. 

 

The ‘Better With M’ campaign is one of the largest marketing efforts in M&M’S history. In addition to the Super Bowl ad, the year-long campaign includes multiple English and Spanish television, print and digital ads, in-store displays, consumer promotions and a new cause-marketing partnership with Habitat for Humanity.  Fans are also encouraged to share how M&M’S makes their own moments better via the brand’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/mms), as well as the hashtag, #betterwithmms.
