Sparks Productions kicked off 2025 by welcoming acclaimed Finnish director Mikko Lehtinen to its roster for representation in Canada.
Born in the happiest country on earth, Mikko began his career as a production assistant at Finland’s MTV3 before moving on to directing. Having shot hundreds of commercials across all seven continents (and picking up a Cannes Gold Lion, Multiple British Arrows, and many other awards along the way), Mikko’s philosophy on making commercials is refreshingly straightforward: 'Entertain the audience'.
Mikko transcends genres to delight audiences of all kinds. He made waves internationally when his film ‘Monsters’ for Fragile Childhood went viral as 'the creepiest PSA ever' - but Mikko is equally skilled with comedic and whimsical stories. His latest spot for second hand marketplace Tori.fi features household items spontaneously coming to life, making their getaway into the outside world.
Having experience in just about every role on the call sheet, Mikko is the ultimate craftsman and a talented visual storyteller with an impeccable sense of timing and rhythm. Not only that, he’s a half-decent guitar player, die-hard hockey fan, passionate chef… and a super nice guy all around!
