McDonald’s Canada is excited to announce the new Siakam Swirl McFlurry in collaboration with the Toronto Raptors and Pascal Siakam. The latest treat takes inspiration from Pascal’s iconic spin move and the Raptors’ team colours. It features rich and creamy vanilla soft-serve, decadent hot fudge and crushed Red SMARTIES. The Siakam Swirl McFlurry will be available for a limited time at participating restaurants in Ontario.
“This was an exciting brand and agency first. The Siakam Swirl McFlurry represents the first-ever McDonald’s Canada menu item inspired by an athlete,” says Leilah Ambrose, group creative director, Cossette. “Being able to tap into Pascal’s authentic fandom gave us creative licence to make this collaboration feel truly ownable, fresh and fun.”
In partnership with Cossette, McDonald’s will leverage a combination of television spots, online videos, social (including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and Spotify), and OOH to drive awareness and excitement for the Siakam Swirl McFlurry. We’ll also host samplings that will feature a Siakam Swirl-branded McFlurry truck, and set it up so fans leaving the Scotiabank Arena can try the new McFlurry.
