McCann West, a division of McCann Worldgroup Canada, led all agencies with 14 Anvil trophies, including seven golds at the 2024 Anvils Awards, a Calgary-based creative awards show hosted by the Ad Rodeo Association. The 2024 Anvils celebrated work from Calgary-based creative agencies that ran in 2023.
The strong local showing was a resounding affirmation of the creative transformation at McCann West. 2023 was the first full year under the creative leadership of Calgary-based ECD Brian Allen, who joined the agency in 2022. It’s the latest success for the agency that recently defended assignments with FCC and the Western Canada Lottery Association (WCLC) business through competitive processes and has been named to the Government of Alberta’s creative services roster.
McCann took home two or more trophies for each of Bayer Crop Science Canada, Canadian Lung Association, Elanco Canada, Phillips Brewing & Malting Co., and Play Alberta, three of whom received awards in the Fearless Client category.
