Margaret Johnson, Group CEO of advertising agency Leagas Delaney, has been awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in recognition of her services to the creative industries and her voluntary work for charities, including the British Red Cross’ women’s philanthropy group, The Tiffany Circle.
Margaret, who was appointed Chief Executive of the agency in 2007 and has helped it become one of the most enduring and well-known brand names in the advertising industry, says, “I am delighted and honoured to receive an OBE. It reflects on everyone who works at Leagas Delaney. We are a boutique agency with a global soul and we have invested in opening new offices overseas in recent years to grow our international footprint. “
“I am also proud of the work we do for many charities such as The British Red Cross, The World Food Programme, The United Nations Development Programme, StreetInvest and Stop The Traffik. This work is an important part of who we are as an agency.”
Leagas Delaney was founded in 1980 by copywriter Tim Delaney, who is now Chairman and Executive Creative Director of the agency. It has built a network of offices in London, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Milan, Prague, Shanghai and Tokyo. Leagas Delaney has produced outstanding creative work for clients such as The BBC, Nationwide, Timberland, Skoda and luxury watch brand Patek Philippe.
Tim says, “I, like so many people, have so much respect for Margaret that this recognition is truly well deserved. Her outstanding brain, matched by her integrity and warmth, have contributed not only to her life in business but to her charity work. I could not be more pleased.”
