This April, British Airways Holidays has teamed up with Radio X to encourage listeners to be adventurous with their holidays and discover what a European fly-drive from London Gatwick has to offer.
The new campaign features a 15-minute film, created and produced by Global, starring Radio X Drivetime host Johnny Vaughan and his former 90s co-host Denise Van Outen on an epic 48-hour adventure in Verona - famously known as the home of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
Together, the iconic pair discover the beautiful Italian city and share their travel tips along the way. They visit the famous balcony in the courtyard of La Casa di Giulietta (Juliet's House), write letters to Juliet to help Denise find love, cook authentic Italian cuisine, and lots more.
The campaign also features on-air promotions and giveaways with Radio X’s Chris Moyles and Toby Tarrant, social media, as well as a second film starring Johnny with fellow Radio X presenter Sunta Templeton, exploring the delights of Porto.
Jonathan Smart, head of marketing performance at British Airways Holidays said, “We were delighted to have the opportunity to reunite Johnny and Denise and take them on an epic journey across Verona. We wanted to inspire listeners to book in that European holiday, as well as showcase the ease of travelling from London Gatwick, and the freedom that a fly-drive holiday can offer.”
