Johnny Foreigner’s CJ Cranks Up the Comedy with Commonwealth Games Sitcom Ad Series

Featuring Guz Khan as himself, the three episode series from Commonwealth Games sponsor Aruba was devised and created by Daniel Tremayne-Pitter through Dark Matter and directed by Johnny Foreigner’s Christian James ahead of The Games which are due to start on 28th July in Birmingham.

Episode 1 of the 3 part series launches today.

"Each episode is between 4 and 6 minutes long and will stream across Aruba (a division of Hewlett Packard) social media platforms including YouTube and VOD. Dark Matter’s Daniel is an advocate of long form content particularly where there are many stakeholders and a service which isn’t easy to visualise or engage with; ‘We wanted to entertain audiences… to connect the brand with The Commonwealth Games in a memorable way and maximise the talent we were lucky enough to work with: Guz Khan. We’ve worked with CJ the director before and we developed the whole idea to suit his directing style. We knew he would be able to nail our vision," said Daniel Tremayne-Pitter, Dark Matter.

CJ commented: "It’s been a three month project and it’s amazing to see it come together now in the run up to the Commonwealth Games. I’m proud of what we have achieved – it’s everything I love; feel good, vibrant and energetic comedy. As a director I straddle broadcast and commercial films so this type of content is perfect. It brings everything together for me."

Represented in the UK by director’s agent Johnny Foreigner CJ has directed three comedy feature films, all on worldwide release and has been handpicked by FILM4 to direct an episode of a flagship series for ALL4. He’s also directed broadcast TV for BT Sport and Insight TV.
