Meena Ayittey has worked on campaigns for high-profile brands including GSK, Puma, Olay, and Panasonic

Greenroom Films has welcomed award-winning Meena Ayittey to it's commercial roster. A passionate storyteller and keen observer of human nature, Meena’s work delves into a wide array of subjects, from music and art to the lived experiences of Black women and the broader Black community. She has a love of emotional storytelling, as well as tongue in cheek comedic performance (see her latest work for Bumble). Before flexing her muscles as a director, she worked for over a decade in post production as a VFX artist and motion designer; meaning she's well placed when it comes to incorporating any VFX or graphical elements into her work. Based in London, Meena has built a strong reputation through collaborations with renowned agencies like Saatchi&Saatchi, Droga5, Grey, Ogilvy, and Oliver, working on campaigns for high-profile brands including GSK, Puma, Olay, and Panasonic.

When not working in commercials Meena also writes and directs in TV and film. Her short film 'Mama', a powerful Black Lives Matter film, earning her a Gold at the 1.4 Awards and recognition as a finalist at Ciclope, as well as a spot on the shortlist for the 2022 Young Directors Awards. Meena’s documentary 'Black Creative', which explores the experience of being Black in the UK advertising industry, has gained international acclaim, including screenings at the Toronto Film Festival and at the Independent Film Awards. Her short film 'All the Little Films' was named ‘Most Watched Film of 2021’ by industry magazine.

Meena shared, "I'm thrilled to join the talented roster of directors at Greenroom Films. Their dedication to nurturing talent resonates deeply with my passion for storytelling and filmmaking. I'm especially grateful for the support and understanding of my storytelling approach from EP Lucy. Her collaborative nature and commitment to balancing creative vision with client objectives have been truly inspiring. I look forward to working alongside Lucy and the entire Greenroom team to production impactful work that resonates with audiences."

Greenroom Films’ executive producer, Lucy Ball, expressed her excitement about the partnership, saying, “I've admired Meena’s work for a long time, so when the opportunity came to discuss working together, I was beyond thrilled. Her work is fearless, her voice unique and her hunger unmistakable. Meena joining the roster serves to bolster our commitment to representing diverse voices, and championing female directorial talent. ”
