NM Productions photographer Boo George celebrates the success of his book launch, 'Right In The Eye'

A couple of weeks ago, Soho was buzzing as NM Productions and renowned photographer Boo George unveiled his new photography book, Right In The Eye, which was unveiled at a 48-hour pop-up exhibition on Greek Street. In a significant charitable effort, the book launch has so far raised over €10,000 for the Bantry Inshore Search and Rescue Association (BISRA), a cause close to Boo’s heart. Having spent much of his early career documenting fishermen and the sea, Boo chose to support BISRA, whose crew operates 24/7 near his hometown in Ireland. With the online shop still open for book and 1/1 framed print purchases - there’s still time to contribute to this important cause.

The evening’s success was highlighted by the impressive turnout and support for the book, which spans Boo George’s prolific 15-year career. With portraits of Hollywood A-listers and collaborations with some of the world’s most prestigious brands, Right In The Eye offers a unique glimpse into Boo’s artistic journey. From his rural Irish roots to shooting stars like Emma Watson, Eddie Redmayne, and Kim Kardashian, the book encapsulates Boo’s ability to find beauty in imperfection and everyday moments.

A key highlight of the afternoon was the Q&A session between Boo George and students from the London Screen Academy, offering the next generation of creatives a rare opportunity to gain insight into the world of photography and production. Hosted by journalist Paul Flynn, the session was as inspiring as it was informative, reflecting NM Productions’ ongoing commitment to fostering young talent.

Anissa Payne, EP and founder at NM Productions said, "Credit must go to my team at NM Productions for pulling this all together. The book itself was a year long in the making and was a labour of love for sure. I must also thank the generosity of Lyxbok and Hempstead May, amongst other multiple vendors, for the considerable donation of their time and expertise in producing the book and prints and getting this exhibition together. In an industry where everything moves at a million miles an hour, it's refreshing to be able to take a moment to stop and celebrate someone's work and even better to be able to use that to give back to a small independent charity, responsible for saving lives."

Toby Campbell, at BISRA Charity said, "Bantry Lifeboat are extremely grateful to Boo and his team for his very generous donation of €10,000. Local donations fund our search and rescue services to cover running costs of approximately €26,000 per annum. This donation from the sale of Boo’s book will be used to replace drysuits, helmets, gloves and other safety equipment, essential to the welfare of our crew. The knowledge of Boo’s donation, in support of our life saving service, brings great peace of mind to our members and the local community.
