ICA's Student Insider Summer Camp Inspires All Seeking Entry Into a Career in Advertising

The Institute of Communication Agencies (ICA) is launching The Student Insider Summer Camp, an online learning initiative designed to inspire people interested in an agency career, as it expands the reach of its Advertising Unlimited platform. Advertising Unlimited was formed in 2008 to enable students to visit leading agencies to explore the variety of careers on offer.

Launching 1st June, Student Insider Summer Camp was created to inspire people from all backgrounds who are looking for an internship, a job after graduation, returning to work or changing careers – all are welcome to participate. The program will consist of a series of online sessions hosted by agency leaders, who will share their experiences, their realities, and their hard-won insights into what makes a career at an agency and how to succeed.

Driven by the ICA’s mission to Amplify, Protect and Transform the agency sector, Student Insider Summer Camp was created with the aim of attracting the best and brightest to the agency sector with special emphasis on building interest among diverse audiences from all social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. Course content covers the experience of working in all types of agencies, in all job roles, and provides sessions on client leadership, strategy and planning, creative, and agency leadership.

“ICA members know that graduating students need the agency sector’s support and guidance to make this first big step in their career. Advertising Unlimited and Student Insider Summer Camp is for more than just students of traditional marketing and advertising programs. It’s for anyone that likes to solve problems creatively. We’re encouraging anyone regardless of prior education level or discipline to consider a career at an agency,” says Leah Power, EVP, agency operations at the ICA.

Participants will benefit from first-hand accounts of agency careers, insight into how an agency works, why and how agencies create things, networking opportunities, and certification after successfully completing the course.
