Higher Pitch, the project that champions adland’s artistic talents, has brought their exhibition Art Sells 2012 home to London after a successful showing in Cannes.
According to Higher Pitch’s Suzie Quill – who is also an art director at Saatchi & Saatchi – the show will be something of homecoming. “We are very excited to have the opportunity to put it on again where Higher Pitch began two years ago. Now for those of you who missed it, along with other colleagues and friends you can see this yearʼs show in all its glory! We have secured a fab space at Park Village, a production company with its own studio; converted horse stables next to Regents Park, where we will have an opening night and then have the show on for three days after.”
The exhibition in Cannes was the first time Higher Pitch founders Mel Fong Brown and Suzie Quill invited judges to help collaborate in the selection of the artwork that will be displayed in the exhibition. Based on the original selection the pair has invited the same artists to submit supporting artwork.
Anyone who caught the show in Cannes will also be able to enjoy some new artworks. “The space we have at Park Village is pretty different from the gallery in Cannes and really suits a larger body of work so it made sense to us to give the current artists an opportunity to show more of their amazing artwork,” explains Mel. “Plus it gives anyone who saw ART SELLS in Cannes something new to see. It will be a larger, more exciting and comprehensive version of the show.”
The three formidable judges are renowned graphic artist Anthony Burrill, Lee Sharrock who oversees global creative PR for Saatchi & Saatchi, and Stink MD Daniel Bergmann.
Higher Pitch was founded in 2010 in answer to the call for a need for a creative outlet in the advertising industry. Their exhibition ART SELLS 2011 showed the works of art of 60 advertising professionals from all over the world and was attended by more than 600 people in the industry in the heart of East Londonʼs creative community. Their last exhibition ART SELLS Cannes 2012 was held in Cannes during the International Advertising Festival.
