Blame it on my ADHD, my career in commercial film production...or a personal rebellion against film school bros insisting we watch all three parts of 'The Godfather' in one sitting? Who knows!? I love Charlotte and her brain. This shoot started as something completely different, and the day before, her lead talent couldn’t make the flight, so she changed everything on a dime - and made this gem. A wild, stressful, weird, funny short. The NYers will get it.

'Have You Eaten Yet?'
Director: Christina Xing
A traditional Chinese mother and her American born Chinese daughter share a phone call together, but struggle to be honest with each other and themselves. The film deals with the lies we tell each other for pride within the 'American Dream' and the facades we put on to show our loved ones that 'we made it'. A very real and raw reflection on mother-daughter dynamics. The masks we wear in our intimate relationships, and the quiet distance those masks create. At least, that’s what I got from it...
