HiFi Project Earns London International Award for Progressive Radio Campaign

'Barbershop Quartet' earns Bronze in Radio & Audio: Campaign category

HiFi Project Earns London International Award for Progressive Radio Campaign

Creative music and sound studio HiFi Project’s work with Arnold Worldwide on the Progressive 'Barbershop Quartet' radio campaign earned a Bronze London International Award (LIA) in the “Radio & Audio: Campaign” category. The win adds to a substantial awards bounty that the spot has already garnered in the past year, including a Radio Mercury Award for Creative Radio Campaign, a Gold Hatch Award, and a One Show shortlist.

The radio spots bring a bright and pingy barbershop twist on the daily trials and tribulations of small business ownership in an unexpectedly catchy campaign for the insurance brand. A harmonizing foursome croon with a slight departure from the standard barbershop standbys, with lyrics such as:

“I miss my baby, someone stole my baby. By the way, my baby is my landscaping truck that was literally stolen from a job site. Baby won't you please come home?”

Arnold approached HiFi Project with clever scripts and the idea to add in an element of barbershop flair, which led HiFi Project CEO/Executive Producer Jack Bradley to comedian and seasoned barbershop pro Tom Shillue, who has appeared on The Tonight Show alongside Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake as part of ‘The Ragtime Gals’ quartet. Bradley worked closely with Shillue to create an original melody and barbershop-style harmonies to bring the signature vintage a capella sound to the comedic scripts.

The award-winning campaign marks a continued collaboration between HiFi Project and Arnold Worldwide on their Progressive account, including an original composition in the recent campaign featuring their lovable fictional salesperson Flo and Jon Hamm.
