Toronto-based production company ANIMALS is thrilled to announce the latest addition to its diverse roster as directorial talent Hans Emanuel joins for representation across Canada.
Born in LA to a Mexican mother and German father, Hans grew up in a multilingual, multicultural household, spending time between Europe and North America. His upbringing and exposure to these cultures and communities has informed his style, telling stories that resonate and impact across the world.
Hans’ commercial career blossomed in Europe before gaining momentum within the US market. His first commercial for OPI – which featured a tap dancing horse – was awarded Bronze at Cannes Lions, as well as several Gold Clio awards plus a prize at the Cristal Festival, kickstarting his advertising career and putting Hans firmly on the map.
The success of the OPI campaign did more than just put him on the radar of agencies and brands: it also was instrumental in developing his trademark, movement-driven style, evident in his work for brands including L’Oréal, Nivea, Nissan, Kia and the U.S. Navy. His work is characterised by its use of VFX, physicality and the cohesion of understated, intimate moments with bold, elevated visuals.
Hans Emanuel, director, ANIMALS said, “When I first met with EPs Chris Hutsul and Miriana DiQuinzio, I immediately loved their energy. I felt a connection with their production approach, creative eye and knew that ANIMALS was going to be a great fit."
Miriana DiQuinzio, executive producer, ANIMALS commented, “We are thrilled to welcome Hans Emanuel to ANIMALS. Hans is a distinct creative voice whose innovative and entertaining choreography, larger than life visuals and seamlessly integrated VFX, always leave us feeling inspired. His passion is infectious and evident in every project he undertakes. We can't wait to collaborate with Hans on Canadian projects.”
