Google Canada has teamed up with Bell and the Raptors to demonstrate how the Google Pixel comes through in the clutch.
The latest campaign, Pixel in the Clutch, shows scenarios where Raptors fans are facing an everyday obstacle. They might be trying to capture their baby’s first words in a noisy kitchen, or stuck with their hands full at a dog’s birthday party and trying to text a friend about Raptors tickets. Whatever it is, their Google Pixel 8 is there in the clutch to assist them. And on the side lines, Raptors power forward Scottie Barnes and announcer Jack Armstrong do the play-by-play for each spot.
“Every team needs a star player who can step up in the clutch when the game is on the line. And every fan needs a phone they can rely on in those make-or-break moments of daily life,” says Chris Henry, senior product marketing manager, devices and services Canada at Google. “The comedic chemistry between Scottie Barnes and Jack Armstrong brings those everyday moments to life in a way we think fans are going to love.”
In partnership with Cossette, Google Canada is leveraging a combination of television spots, digital OLV and social media to show consumers what the Google Pixel 8 can do for them, and create new expectations of what a phone is capable of. That way, Raptors fans will never miss out on those last-minute tickets or the perfect game-time selfie again.
Last year, we told a great story with Scottie Barnes’s introduction to the city through the lens of the Google Pixel,” says team Jacob Greer and Nicole Ellerton, group creative directors at Cossette. “This year, the Google Pixel 8 offers some really cool features, and bringing Scottie and Jack together as commentators was the perfect opportunity to showcase its functionality in relatable ways to fans.”
