Last Thursday took place the first Gerety Awards Winners Cocktail in Madrid. Past and present jury members, entrants and members from the Spanish creative community gathered in the fantastic offices os .monks to celebrate the Spanish winners around a cocktail and a Live Gerety Talk.
The participants of the panel, moderated by co-founder of Gerety Awards Lucía Ongay, were: Virginia Mosquera, creative director author and screenwriter, McCann Spain; Victoria Piantini, managing director, Primo Content España; Arturo Benlloch, executive creative director .monks; Elena García, creative director and founder, Hellend and Belén Hinojar, creative strategist and creator, Climabar co-founder.
The round table kicked-off thinking of a word to describe the creative year that is now ending and continued with a discussion on the relationship of brands and politics, the importance of local vs global in creative campaigns and the meaning of success today.
Andalusian Crush, the campaign rewarded with the Grand Prix at the local creative award c de c, was shown as a good example of a campaign looking to reposition a brand and creating a good mix of local and authentic culture told in a universal way to achieve a global reach.
After the Talk, the Spanish winners received their trophies: production company Bambina, and the agencies McCann, Sioux & Cyranos and LOLA MullenLowe were rewarded by the Gerety jury on this year’s edition.
Gerety Awards will be having a jury session again in Madrid in 2025 and the jury members will be announced in the beginning of next year when the festival opens for entries.
