Geometry has welcomed new North American chief strategy officer Curt Munk who joins the agency from FCB/RED where he served as EVP, head of strategy effective immediately. Curt will work in close partnership with agency leadership on strategic vision, bolstering the robust data and technology practice and converting new business as Geometry continues their evolution as the industry’s most innovative end-to-end commerce agency.
On the addition of Curt to Geometry, NA president Tyler Murray notes: “Shopper Marketing has quickly evolved into a new era of connected commerce where people are the new point-of-sale. In order to reach people at the moments that matter, data and technology have become central to everything we do. Curt is one of the rare strategic talents with a proven track record to be able to combine the latest in strategic disciplines like shopper marketing, research, analytics, and digital commerce in order to better reach and convert the modern shopper. We are so excited for Curt’s leadership and expertise as we pioneer this next chapter of connected commerce.”
Curt has spent his entire career helping brands be more successful in their interactions with consumers and shoppers. A self-described retail and tech geek, he has been a passionate student of consumer and shopper behaviour for more than 20 years and ardently believes in embracing today’s golden era of commerce with innovations that are changing the definition of good retail. Curt began his career on the agency side overseeing Walmart and saw the giant’s revenue grow from $68b to $440b within a 12-year time frame with the rise of the Supercenter, private label and e-commerce channel. Most recently Curt has been concepting and building the future of consumer electronics commerce with Xfinity and Samsung, and helping to lead our industry toward a broader definition of retail via technology, conversion media and merchandising. His global commerce expertise includes shopper marketing, retail shop design, packaging, promotion, influencer marketing, and merchandising solutions for major brands including Coca-Cola, Nestlé Purina, Anheuser Busch, P&G, USPS and Walmart.
On joining Geometry, Curt notes: “I’m excited about the passion I see coming out of Geometry’s leadership and NA President, Tyler Murray who I know well. I’m inspired by the constant evolution toward innovation and the agencies’ strong data and technology practice. The reality is, this business is moving toward technology-led solutions and Geometry is best positioned to the lead the technological revolution in my eyes. I’m likewise drawn to Geometry’s Living Commerce proposition as I believe it is the best articulation of that future view that acknowledges and offers shopper and brand value in blurred lines between both living and buying but also between traditional entities and evolving technologies. This is a very exciting time to be in the retail and commerce business."
