The Institute of Creative Advertising and Design (ICAD) has announced the appointment of Sarah Chadwick as president and Mikey Curran as vice president for 2025, marking an exciting new chapter for Ireland's longest-standing creative organisation. Along with executive director Neil Rooney, Sarah and Mikey will champion ICAD's mission and work to deliver programmes that Foster, Promote, and Reward creative excellence.
Sarah Chadwick is a freelance producer, who under the moniker Clickety Clack has garnered international success at D&AD and Cannes Lions, and national success at the ICAD Awards. Executive board member since 2022, Sarah became the organisation’s Vice President in 2024.
Sarah said of her new role, “ICAD isn’t a business run for profit or to appease stakeholders, it’s a body by creatives, for creatives. It gives me immense personal pride to hold the role of President and to steer the organisation as we expand and grow our programmes. When I set up my own business, my biggest fear was missing out on being part of something bigger, ICAD has always helped me retain a sense of belonging, and that’s the key thing I want to continue.”
Mikey Curran, associate creative director at The Public House, has split his career between Dublin and Melbourne. “For 67 years, ICAD has been the spiritual home of Irish creatives. ICAD doesn’t just realise the weird and wonderful nature of our members, we nurture and protect it. The thing that has always drawn me to ICAD is its unpretentiousness, and that punk streak that courses through its veins. The Institute has an ambitious programme of events in 2025 and I’m looking forward to providing more opportunities to our members, with the right kick of attitude.”
ICAD is a growing, supportive community for creatives at all levels. In 2025, ICAD will continue to nurture and champion Irish creatives through programmes like ICAD Upstarts, ICADemy and the iconic ICAD Awards. ICAD is also leading the way in addressing mental health issues in Irish creative industries. Research undertaken by the Institute revealed that commercial creatives are more than twice as likely to experience depression compared to the national average.
2025 membership opens on the 13th of February through a newly developed membership portal, with Early Bird membership at 2024 rates available until the end of the month. As ICAD continues to grow and evolve, there has never been a better time to be part of Ireland's original creative community
