Fresh Films director Patricia Gloum’s genre breaking short film Forged in Chaos is a long love story of survival/art/dance/technology and personal stories. Rob, a former ballet dancer from Juilliard NYC dance school, narrates a poem inspired by his life, whilst he’s having a conversation with Josiah, his adopted son in the LGBTQ ballroom Voguing scene. This is common practice, to adopt each other to survive in NYC being both 19 and 21 years old. This is Rob’s way of creating his own family. And this is his story.
The digital art featuring in the film are the first of a kind dance NFT - Never seen before and made by filming real people and collaborating with digital Artist Jonas Ersland creating 5 individual NFTS.
Patricia met Rob filming a pro LGBTQ passion dance project, Do U for U. Fast forward three years and they are creating this new art piece together, Forged in Chaos, a docu-poem-experimental-digital-art short film. An interesting mix of genres that recently featured as Vimeo’s Staff Pick.
Patrica says of the film: "I want this short film to speak to the ones that haven’t started their lives in the best way, on their best foot. To instill a To instill a journey for evolution, for trying out and to transmit power and love. All with a little touch of comedy, because who doesn’t like to laugh?"
