Fans can dive into the interactive experience together to explore the history of Xbox in a microverse developed on Active Theory’s Dreamwave Platform

Over the last 20 years, Xbox has developed numerous franchises, consoles and experiences. To celebrate this anniversary occasion, Xbox has unveiled an interactive, virtual museum created by Active Theory using its Dreamwave Platform to connect fans with their memories and games from over the years.

On arrival, users are greeted with a nostalgic living room shot and can dive into any generation of Xbox console, which are laid out on the table, transitioning them into the 3D museum environment. From there, fans explore the museum with their friends in real-time with each user represented by a customisable avatar.

A beautiful and immersive way of reliving nostalgic moments from the past, fans can also log into their Xbox account to generate a personalized museum experience, including a share card that recounts the games they’ve played, achievements and top genres over the years.

The museum is built using Active Theory’s Dreamwave Platform, a technology that’s previously hosted experiences for Cardano, Porter Robinson, Hulu and more. “This is one of many ‘microverses’ we’ve created for brands,” said Eddie Benson, Strategist at Active Theory and Dreamwave. “It’s exciting to see communities embrace these connected digital spaces and as we see the metaverse narrative evolve, there’s increasing interest from both consumers and brands in engaging with these worlds.”

The virtual museum is now live and available to all at https://museum.xbox.com/
