This Sunday 3rd December, Channel 4 broadcasted a series of specially-crafted #PositivelyPurple idents on Channel 4 mark the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities and encourage discussion around disability inclusion.
The 30 second idents, which feature British Sign Language (BSL), subtitles and a voice-over, have been designed as a call to action to advocate for the rights and well-being of disabled individuals across society.
“Channel 4 is proud to unveil this year’s idents under the banner of #PositivelyPurple, a widespread movement recognising the economic contributions of the 386 million disabled employees worldwide,” said Giles Barker, workplace disability lead at Channel 4. “These idents not only serve as a celebration of #PositivelyPurple but also align with Channel 4's ongoing efforts to enhance opportunities for disabled talent within its workforce, behind the camera and on-screen.”
At Channel 4, its always looking to develop and further improve disability inclusion and so, this weekend, Channel 4 embraced the power of purple.
