You either love or you hate Cannes. For me personally it’s a bit of both. But one thing you CAN’T deny is that you have the most brilliant conversations there.
And then normally you forget them.
So last year I decided to create a lasting memento of some of the great chats by recording them. As you can imagine I came home with lots of great material.
So in the run up to Cannes this year, I’d like to share a few of my conversations from last year with everyone in the LBB community.
First off is Trevor Robinson, OBE, advertising legend and founder of London agency Quiet Storm. Trevor has always been a pioneer, not just in his creative campaigns and use of humour, but also in how he set up and has run his agency over the years.
I spoke to him about talent, and why he prefers hiring a maverick.
Second is Hans Brouwer, the founder of one of Amsterdam’s great creative exports: MassiveMusic. Hans has made a business out of creativity in a way that most of us can only dream of.
I spoke to him about Amsterdam from a business point of view, whether there is talk of a boom or new ‘Golden Age’ for the city – and why it is that a relatively small town makes such a global impact.
