It weighs 50lb (22.6kg) and has a bulk weight consisting of high-density, heavy metal beads. It’s what Supercell, the makers of real-time multiplayer mobile game Clash Royale, believes is 'quite possibly' the world’s heaviest phone case.
The case, which took 600+ man hours and 16 people to design and bring to life, was created to mark the launch of two of the most heavyweight Card Evolutions in Clash Royale. Since last week, two of the game’s most feared characters - P.E.K.K.A and Mega Knight - have become even stronger in their ‘Evolution’ forms.
For the case’s first playtest, Clash Royale teamed up with legendary strongman and internet personality Eddie Hall. Both Hall and fans alike struggled to get to grips with the device as they played the game on the eve of UFC 306 in Las Vegas, where game developer Supercell promoted its titanic in-game event at Sphere.
Even with a more modest 25lb (11.3kg) version of the heavyweight device, fans continued to feel the strain of the P.E.K.K.A. vs. Mega Knight challenge.
Eddie Hall said, “It’s the most fun I’ve had playing a game while working out at the same time. I challenge anyone to get through a three-minute round of Clash Royale while holding this case!”
