Brian Chan has been promoted to Chief
Technology Officer for Regional Business at Mirum Hong Kong, and will lead the
digital agency’s new Technology Forum.
The Technology Forum is a new business
unit that will spur innovation and R&D in Hong Kong and throughout the
region by connecting clients with new ideas from the start-up community.
Mirum’s recent history as a collection
of founder-led agencies helps it understand the start-up mentality and how to
connect start-ups with commercial opportunities. Combine that with its understanding
of client needs and Mirum is the ideal facilitator for both parties.
Chan, who has more than 13 years’
experience in software development and the digital interactive world, joined
Mirum in early 2014 as Technology Solutions Director tasked with implementing
best practices for Mirum’s work in Asia Pacific and Greater China.
“The start-up circle in Hong Kong
offers some very exciting prospects and is the next frontier in terms of
technology and innovation,” said Chan. “We’re hoping to play a significant role
within the community, one which will benefit both start-ups and our clients.”
He previously worked in New York,
Singapore and Hong Kong for clients including Nokia, Bank of America, Time
Inc., Turner Networks, Hong Kong Jockey Club and MasterCard.
Chan has a degree in computer science
from the University of California, Irvine.
The Technology Forum builds on Mirum
Hong Kong’s role as the digital agency’s Asia-Pacific Centre of Excellence in
Technology and Innovation.
CEO Win Mak is excited about adding another layer of innovation to the agency saying: “We see the Technology Forum as a great way to utilise the limitless innovations created by Hong Kong’s start-ups and to help convert them into business solutions for our clients. Brian has a wealth of experience in the digital world and is the ideal leader to build this bridge between our clients and the start-up community.”
