Despite it being illegal to prevent a woman from breastfeeding in public, many women still experience prejudice, feel embarrassed, judged and are publicly humiliated, being told to cover up, do it in a toilet or - worse yet - leave.
This sucks.
To mark World Breastfeeding Week, director Jon Lawton decided to make a short film - a proud image of a mother serenely feeding her child set against grotesque mouths scoffing food.
What's more disgusting? A dirty kebab or a woman doing the most natural thing in the world? Set to the post punk provocateur / feminist Peaches track - it demands a reassessment.
Director Jon Lawton commented: ”People should have more respect. If one woman feels more confident to breastfeed in public after seeing the film - that’s a great thing.”
The film is extra on point as a new study reveals that the UK has one of the lowest rates of breastfeeding in the world.
