Brandimage has worked on a piece of design work for luxury jeweller, perfumer and watchmaker Van Cleef & Arpels. The brand experiences a global audience of high-value customers looking for upmarket luxury, so it requires equally high-end design work. Brandimage worked on the creation of the packaging for Van Cleef & Arpels first men’s perfume, called ‘Midnight in Paris’
“Inspired by a watch from the famous jeweller, Midnight In Paris harbours all the poetry of a starry night in the heart of the City of Light. Heir to exceptional know-how, Van Cleef & Arpels opened a new chapter of its history with the launch of its first masculine perfume in the Haute Perfumerie universe. It has always felt that the universes of high jewellery and high perfumery are made to unite with each other. The perfume takes its inspiration from the watch of the same name, which precisely reproduces on its face the sky as seen from the Place Vendôme in Paris at midnight.
Today, this mechanical cosmos inspires the eponymous perfume bottle. A body of night-blue glass whose shape recalls the face of the watch. The bottle recaptures the decor of the dial, the star map of the Paris sky. No other marking clouds the stars’ sparkling in the sky which, depending on the lighting, takes on the orange glimmers of a magnificent city night. Circled with silver plate initialled “Midnight in Paris”, the lightly rounded bottle is adorned with a cap decorated with several monograms, an allusion to the crown which allows the mechanical winding movement of the watch. This bottle sings the praise of three great crafts anchored in the culture of the Van Cleef & Arpels brand: the know-how of the jeweller, the poetry of the perfumer, and the extreme sensitivity of the master watchmaker. A creative gesture which unites time, olfaction, and the pleasure of excellence.”
