Bo Hellberg has been appointed as Executive Creative Director of Billington Cartmell (BC), the independent marketing communications agency and Brave, the brand advertising agency.
Bo has an advertising and innovation background and has been part of some of the most innovative events in the digital industry; working with the likes of Modem and Lost Boys.
At Ogilvy London, he was part of the team that developed the first multi-award winning Campaign for Real Beauty for Dove, giving him a seat on the Ogilvy Group Board - and an office share with Rory Sutherland.
Having spent the last 4 years in Paris as a Creative Director at DDB, Tribal DDB and most recently as Partner of the independent agency Megalo, he has managed to pick up awards in traditional and digital categories, been the President of the Digital at Club des Directeurs Artistique, judged award shows like The One Show and Cristal, speak at D&AD and develop a deep love for cheese.
Bo Hellberg commented: “This is a tremendous opportunity to be part of and drive real change in an agency group. The ambition is high; there’s already a great client list in place and some interesting work. But more importantly, there’s an array of diverse skill sets, yet focus in the different agencies. Having said that, there’s a lot of work to be done which makes this an exciting and interesting adventure. ”
The appointment of Bo Hellberg is the next stepping stone on the journey Rupert Howell embarked on almost a year ago with the appointment of a new management team to bolster and drive the change of the agency group.
Rupert Howell, the Non-Executive Chairman, added: “Over the past year, I have seen the business growing exponentially and refine our digital, social media and shopper expertise and Bo’s job will be to drive this change forward even further. We are delighted that Bo has joined us as he brings a wealth of experience with him, he will deliver real gravitas with clients and most importantly he has real passion for the job.”
