With the world’s biggest EDM festival going into its second weekend, automotive company and festival partner BMW joins forces with Tomorrowland to launch ‘Future Record’: an interactive experience that gives music fans all around the world the chance to produce a track that embodies their connection to Tomorrowland, with the magic of AI.
Through a personalised web experience, powered by ChatGPT, ‘Future Record’ opens creativity with AI in music. Any fan can create and generate their own vision for tomorrow and capture it in a unique track. The experience, created by Media.Monks as part of The Marcom Engine, generates a combination of music, lyrics and artwork that is unique to each user.
Guided by the AI assistant Adscendo, Tomorrowland’s virtually personified theme for this year, users can select their choice in vibe, BPM, the people they would like to dedicate the track to, and key words that the Chat GPT powered tool can use to generate one-of-a-kind lyrics. The experience then unites all elements and generates a personalised track with limited edition artwork to match.
Not only is the music track powered by generative AI, the tool also allows smart sharing optimised for the audience, based on input given to Adscendo in the beginning of the experience. This results in users being given sharing functionalities that fit their own style for social amplification to their own music communities, from weekend warriors to festival families.
Uwe Dreher, vice president marketing Europe at BMW, said, “Exceptional formats like the partnership with Tomorrowland are a part of the BMW DNA. They help us infuse the brand with new and highly emotional content, while connecting with people whose progressive mindset aligns with our brand. Additionally, these formats give us the opportunity to pilot new technologies and gain valuable experiences. Above all, the exponential growth of AI will profoundly transform our communication in the future and offer new possibilities to deliver even more personalised assets in real-time, providing each user with an individual experience with our brand.“
Patrick Klebba, executive creative director at Media.Monks, added, “Music unites and ‘Future Record’ is an experience that builds on the connection that people make through music festivals. Powered by AI, this experience gives fans the opportunity to create a shareable experience, with their own unique vision and vibes. ‘Future Record’ demonstrates how AI can democratise creativity, and I’m excited that we were able to work together to bring generative AI to music at this scale.”
The AI web experience doesn’t stop at Tomorrowland. During and after the festival, visitors and fans all around the world can use the track to create their own highlight video that captures the most memorable moments of the festival, set to their very own soundtrack.
