Did you know that Indonesia is a coffee paradise? Or that Indonesia is fast becoming a global research center? How about the fact that many Indonesians are having their work featured on Hollywood animated movies? There are plenty of newsworthy accomplishments from the country, but unfortunately, many have gone unnoticed.
Now PT Multi Bintang Indonesia, Tbk. (“Bintang”), together with Mirum Jakarta (formerly XM Gravity), are initiating the “Cheers Bangga Indonesia” campaign, compiling 100 pieces of positive news on Indonesia from reliable sources, and encouraging people to spread the news—with pride—on their social media accounts.
Bir Bintang marketing manager Jenny Tumewu explains: “Bintang as one of Indonesia’s iconic brands is committed to taking part in promoting Indonesia’s positive side to the public through http://www.cheersbanggaindonesia.com, and the coming 70th Indonesian Independence Day would be a perfect opportunity to start the movement.”
Along with the “Cheers Bangga Indonesia” movement, Bintang is also launching a special edition series called “Bangga 70 Tahun Kemajuan” (The Pride of 70 Years of Progress). The red-and-white package symbolises Bintang’s pride on national development and serves as a reminder of the common spirit that plays a crucial role in building the country.
Following the launch on 11 August, more than a hundred thousand cheers or expressions of support were made online and “CheersBanggaIndonesia” was a trending topic on Twitter.
“The campaign aims to encourage Indonesians to appreciate the achievements of our local talents and take part in spreading the spirit of nationalism by simply sharing or giving cheers to several facts on nation-wide achievements within 70 years. It’s also our contribution to the country in the form of a digital breakthrough,” says Bintang Group digital manager Andhini Putri.
Said Mirum Jakarta managing director Garth Parlimbangan: “We are honored to be able to stand by Bintang in cheering the country, assisting the brand through platform building and providing high-quality content, in the hope of raising awareness on our national achievements.”
“Cheers Bangga Indonesia” will run until 31 August 2015. The goal is to trigger a more sustainable national pride movement.
