The accomplished and highly respected artist Maverick Sabre and emerging artist LORYN recently graced the stage for Big Sync’s third live music showcase of 2019.
The original and iconic BBC Television HQ, now a private members’ club from Soho House, was once again the perfect setting for Big Sync’s exclusive showcase, in partnership with SONY/ATV Music Publishing and Soho House Group.
The room was packed as the VIP audience of Big Sync’s clients, partners and brands jostled for a view of Maverick Sabre, the London born, Irish raised singer, songwriter whose first album reached number 2 in the UK charts in 2012 and earned him a BRIT nomination.
Maverick, back on the scene with his third album, ‘When I Wake Up’, visibly moved the crowd with an acoustic, stripped back set of tracks from his last three albums including ‘I Need’, ‘Her Grace’ and ‘Drifting’. The instrumental of ‘Drifting’ features as the soundtrack to this short film we made about the night:
If eyes turned away from Maverick’s soulful performance for a second, they might have caught a glimpse of 2018 BRIT winning, fellow singer songwriter, Jorja Smith, who features on ‘When I Wake Up’ and who was there keeping a low profile while watching her friend’s performance.
Supporting Maverick was new artist, LORYN, who recently collaborated with Rudimental on the official soundtrack to the 2019 Men’s Cricket World Cup with a song called ‘Stand By’. Her powerful voice, combined with a blend of both acoustic and electronic sounds blew the crowd away. ‘Sirens’ was the stand out track of her set in which she sang ‘Stand By’ but also included fresh tracks like ‘Something New’.
