Berlin Fashion Film Festival 2023 Program Unveiled
Since its inception in 2012, Berlin Fashion Film Festival (BfFF) has been a source of inspiration for leaders in the fashion and film domains. This year, BfFF proudly continues its longstanding heritage as an intimate space for leading brands, designers, filmmakers, and decision makers.
The 12th edition of Berlin Fashion Film Festival takes place at the prestigious Delphi Filmpalast November 2nd. The event includes exclusive screenings of DAMMI directed by Yann Demange starring Riz Ahmed and Isabelle Yasmine Adjani about identity and intimacy in Paris, as well as the screening of the cinematic gem 'Louis Vuitton – Men's Fall-Winter 2023 Show' by visionary French directors Michel and Olivier Gondry. Based on the ideology of growing up, the French filmmakers Michel and Olivier Gondry construct a house in which the first stages of a boy's life unfold, culminating in adulthood, where the memories and experiences of the inner child remain eternally present. Featuring a performance by Rosalía and fashion by designer Kidsuper.
Addressing culturally relevant topics like gender fluidity, tackling industry racism, sustainability in fashion, and body positivity, Germany’s broadcaster ARD joins VICE for 'Beyond Fashion' - the first German serial format to explore fashion as a cultural asset, art form and as a mirror of the society it reflects, hosted by Avi Jakobs. BFFF’s 2023 programme champions innovative projects and visionary ideas shaping the fashion and film landscape through engaging talks by industry leaders such as CANADA and more.
Some of the biggest names in fashion form part of BFFF’s curated shortlist, from the world’s most renowned fashion houses to up and coming directors and designers. Providing a glimpse for a select few into the creative, yet hypercompetitive world of fashion, BfFF continues to evolve and grow in its mission to define, explore and align with the ever changing fashion film genre. The event culminates on November 2nd at Delphi Filmpalast with the winners announcement and on November 3rd with the afterparty at Quantum Oddity Gallery.
The winners will be selected by a jury of esteemed industry professionals which includes Sissi Johnson, fashion business maverick and professor with a focus culture and innovation, award-winning director Jessy Moussallem, Frederic Benzaquen - executive producer and founder of Factory; Marjorieth Sanmartin - chief creative officer at Philipp und Keuntje and fischerAppelt; LEONE - creative director and CEO at C41, creative producer Kristín Larsdóttir Dahl; Niccolò Montanari - Publicist, Festival strategist and founder of Curation Hour; Christian Ruess - creative director and founder of Container Love and Studio Christian Ruess; Loïc Breard - head of Bigoudi Agency, Germany's very first hair and make-up /styling Agency, to name a few..
