Hi, I’m Salomón Beda, and this is Behind The Stereo.
Salomón> If my music were a film, I think it would be a Wes Anderson film, because I like to take people on an adventure with my music, I like to take them to different worlds, to different colours.
Salomón> I got into music, because for me, music is a necessity. I always say that music is like nutrition, for me at least, like food. Without it, I couldn’t be able to survive. I need it to express myself and have that freedom.
Salomón> I would say that my three favourite Colombian meals are ajiaco, bandeja paisa y arroz con coco.
Salomón> I would say it would be 'mojarra frita' (fried fish), 'arroz con coco' (rice and coconut) and fried plantains. My father was born in Barranquilla, the coast of Colombia, and I was born in Miami, so my music has always been inspired by the sand and the Caribbean.
Salomón> Gratitude, nostalgia and love.
Salomón> 'Bacana' is a Colombian slang for cool, awesome, dope.
Salomón> The diversity and the culture we have, it’s so inspiring to make music. Just the food, the sounds, just the mix of history and culture. I love it, proud to be Latin.
Salomón> The care and the love that I get from the SoStereo team. I know as an independent artist, you guys have my back and I love that.
