B-Reel today announced that, following a two-year stint in Sweden as the company’s Chief Creative Officer, founding partner Petter Westlund is returning to the United States to lead the creative effort at B-Reel’s Los Angeles office. Petter also led the creative side of the company when B-Reel first opened its doors in Stockholm in 1999.
In 2008, Petter moved to New York City to set-up and run the B-Reel office. While in New York, he established the company on the international ad-scene, spearheading projects including Axe 100 Girls, Doritos Asylum 626 and Google Chrome Fastball.
“Petter is the original Swiss Army Knife of digital production,” says Pelle Nilsson, EP/Founding Partner and head of the company’s Los Angeles office. “His creative direction, tech savvy and bang-on-target aesthetic has been paramount to B-Reel’s success.”
Petter is happy to be back in the United States after two years at B-Reel’s Stockholm office: “I’m really looking forward to joining the team in Los Angeles, and to help build our company on the west coast. With our unique mix of both creative technical expertise and storytelling, we have many possibilities to act on.”
Another B-Reel pioneer, Karl Ringman, has been promoted to Creative Director/Creative Technologist, and will lead the L.A. creative team with Petter. Karl, who was a part of the B-Reel startup team in New York City, has been in the L.A. office since its inception.
Petter and Karl will also be joined by Senior Art Director Mark Wheeler, who is relocating to L.A. from B-Reel’s London office. Mark was the Art Director on Google Web Lab, B-Reel’s SXSW Interactive award-winning project.
The reunion of this trio fortifies B-Reel's innovative digital production services on the west coast for B-Reel, also providing a creative infusion into the company's Commercials division in integrated, transmedia and branded content projects.
