Acclaimed production company Institute has welcomed Spanish director Erik Morales to its roster for US commercial representation. Erik is renowned for his visually striking and emotionally resonant work, reflecting a rare balance of technical innovation and heartfelt authenticity.
Erik’s global advertising clients include Nike, Audi, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Coca-Cola, Diesel, IKEA, Seagram’s, Zara, and Sony, among many more. His Cupra “Seven Seconds” campaign is a stand-out for its exploration of first impressions, brought to life with polished visuals and dynamic pacing. In his Cruzcampo “Con Mucho Acento” spot, he skillfully merges cutting-edge technology with genuine storytelling, using deepfake technology to bring Spanish icon Lola Flores to life in a bold tribute to Andalusian culture. Erik’s commercial work has garnered recognition at top international festivals, including Cannes Lions.
His documentary shorts Riders of the Well of Dead, Immortals, and A Girl in a Fortress have been featured in CNN, National Geographic, Nowness, Salon, and The Verge, among others, and screened at lauded festivals worldwide like the Sheffield International Documentary Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, and at London’s Raindance Film Festival, where he won for Best Documentary.
“I connected with the people of Institute immediately,” said Erik. “I love that they were born as a company to elevate minority voices in our creative industry, and that they are still a women-driven enterprise. They have a true spark, and they make brave choices. I respect their work and am excited to be a part of it.”
“Erik's work struck me right away when I stumbled upon his Cupra Tavascan spot featuring Willow Smith. His thoughtful and restrained use of visual effects punctuate his visual voice so effortlessly, always invigorating the story, never distracting from it," said Tori Palmatier Institute's managing director. "He's smart, witty, and incredibly talented, we're thrilled to be working with him!"
In addition to his US representation, Erik is repped by Stink in Germany, Blur in Spain, Primo in Latin America and Mexico, Earlyman Film in India, and IC in France.
