Arts & Letters has appointed three senior hires in New York City, including Vahbiz Engineer, Liz Delp, and Tim Hubbell. Effective immediately, Vahbiz and Liz will handle creative on a host of agency accounts including Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Zola, Google and upcoming new business. Tim will serve as director of development, where he will be responsible for the agency’s overall business development, including new business, growth into new categories, and the core marketing of the company. The three senior hires will join a growing cohort of New York-based employees, the largest centre of talent outside of the headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.
In addition to the appointment news, Arts and Letters is announcing plans to open a new space in New York City later in 2023, as it continues to evolve its hybrid Work Together Anywhere model. This will mark the agency’s first expansion of its physical footprint outside of its headquarters in Richmond.
Liz Delp, creative director at Arts & Letters: Liz joins Arts & Letters from Anomaly New York, where she most recently worked as creative director on Ally. Before that she worked across many other national and global brands at Anomaly such as Johnny Walker, Google, Captain Morgan, Crown Royal, Sonos and Dick’s Sporting Goods. In 2017, she created an award campaign for Jane Walker, a limited edition of Johnnie Walker Black that celebrated the achievement of women. More recently, she was awarded for the “Miss America” Olympics campaign she created for Dick’s Sporting Goods and led the team that won the Social Pitch for Ally Bank. Before that, she worked at Grey New York on Pringles, NFL and P&G. But most of her time there was as an ACD on the Breathe Happy campaign for Febreze. She started her career at Harrisburg and Philadelphia based Neiman Group.
Vahbiz Engineer, creative director at Arts & Letters: Vahbiz also joins Arts & Letters from Anomaly, where she worked on a number of global brands such as Budweiser and Diageo, including Johnnie Walker, Captain Morgan and Crown Royal, across various media and digital channels. In 2017-2018, she developed the award-winning Jane Walker campaign for Diageo, a limited edition of Johnnie Walker Black label, celebrating the many achievements of women. Over the last three years, she helped build and run the Ally Bank brand. During this time, she developed an AR game of Monopoly that was played in seven cities across the US and spearheaded the acclaimed brand campaign, “We’re all better off with an Ally.” (ally words campaign) in 2021. Prior to Anomaly, Vahbiz created and crafted various high profile projects for global and U.S. clients at J Walter Thompson, including Macy’s, Smirnoff, Schick and Nestle as well as non-profit organizations, Services for the UnderServed and ECPAT. She was responsible for concepting and bringing to life the award-winning Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project. Before that she was vital to the development of innovative campaigns for Absolut Vodka, Nivea, Embassy Suites and The Sprint Corporation, among other leading global brands at TBWA Chiat Day
Tim Hubbell, director of development at Arts & Letters: In his role, Tim is fueled by a desire to use his client-side experience to unlock lasting brand partnerships for the agency. He joins the shop after 15 years embracing such partnerships on the client side at ESPN and NBC News. In those roles, Tim led iconic campaigns and platforms for SportsCenter, 30 for 30 and MSNBC, among many others. Whether architecting the NBC News original podcast portfolio, launching ESPN's Instagram presence or cutting his teeth in the early days of streaming, Tim relishes the chance to take established brands to new places.
