2020 was a strange year for everyone. In March 2020, much like most production companies, we lost a significant amount of work and a massive chunk of profit. It was a scary time for a small business and a company that relies on the ability to organise large groups of people into various geographic locations to create films. Our two live-action studios, Irresistible Films, and Green Bullet had their entire pipelines frozen.
Fortunately, Feast Motion, our animation studio thrived under Covid conditions. picking up a 600% increase in work within a year. In August we saw the return of live-action shoots, after all the stock footage was used in the summer creating ‘lockdown films’, there was no option but to roll out the cameras again. Great times and a factor that helps contribute to 2020-2021 being our most profitable year ever. Really strange times, we didn’t see that coming in March 2020.
In December 2020, after a period of reflection, we decided it was time to take our three studios into the next phase of their development. To consolidate the brands into one master brand and to build on our talent offering.
We focused our rebrand around three crucial factors, which were our talent, website, and branding. We aspire to provide genuine and specialist service to advertising agencies or brands, regardless of the brief received, and have developed three commercial production companies over 14 years, spanning premium film and stills advertising through Irresistible Films, social video content with Green Bullet Films, and animation through Feast Motion.
To be frank, the old branding and websites were tired, disjointed and a behemoth of a task to maintain. Through the rebrand, we wanted to unify our three studios with minimal branding that allowed the work to speak for itself. Working with Quim Marin’s Barcelona-based design studio we did exactly that. The three studios were united on a new single platform and Irresistible Studios was born.
Our next job was to reflect on the way we offer talent. We know that by the time agencies and brands start looking for a director or animation talent to realise a project, it’s normally a race to get a partner in place with a looming shoot date or booked media date around the corner.
Historically, we have met director briefs through our Global Talent Network. A global database of directors and animators that works across all budgets and genres. It’s why we didn’t have a roster in place for years. We made it our business to know the best of freelance talent. But it was now time to complement this network, with strong rosters in each studio.
The rebrand, new website site, and three new rosters give us the ability to nurture director talent, offering heavy-hitting directors in each area of the business, to build up relationships between talent and agencies and brands whilst still being able to offer up a cheeky, headhunted wildcard option. The best of both worlds.
2021 is a breath of fresh air, finally, we are able to reflect the quality of our work and talent as well as the breadth of our services in a direct and easy-to-digest way. We are pleased to bring you Irresistible Studios.
