With hybrid workflows becoming standard and the need for top-tier post rising, the timing couldn’t be better. The Vancouver studio allows Alter Ego to support more filmmakers, studios, and networks, while maintaining the exceptional quality the brand is known for.
Heading up the new location is world-renowned colourist and Alter Ego’s head of colour, Eric Whipp (Mad Max: Fury Road, Mad Max: Furiosa), alongside partners Wade Odlum, Greg Edgar, Craig Harris, and senior colourist Kipp Lightburn. Both Craig and Kipp have deep ties to the Vancouver production community, making this a natural next step.
Kipp brings an impressive list of credits in features, docs, and TV movies for Hallmark, Lifetime, Universal, and Sony — strengthening Alter Ego’s growing focus on longform storytelling and series work.
They join an already stacked team including Andrew Ross, Bree Brackett, Lily Henry, and up-and-coming talent Corey Martinez, Jonah Venneri, Vika Svishchova, and Malini Khotsiphom.
With nearly 50 artists and producers, the studio is powered by 8 Baselights, 4 Resolves, 9 Flames, and a top-tier CG and motion design department. Remote collaboration tools ensure seamless service — whether clients are in the room or around the world.
“The team, the tech, the experience — it’s been ready for years,” said partner and supervising colourist Wade Odlum. “Now we get to bring that to more projects in Vancouver — something we’ve been excited about for a long time.”
Through it all, Alter Ego stays true to what drives them:
Do great work. Be kind.
