DDB Chicago's attempt to hack the Super Bowl continues its roll-out with latest film starring Michael C. Hall
Judging by the latest round of released content, Skittles' attempt to hijack this year's Super Bowl could also be one hilarious FU to advertising.
Skittles Commercial: The Broadway Musical is a one-off, 30-minute Broadway show that's set to take place on the afternoon of the Super Bowl (a few hours before kick off, so attendees can still make the game). The show's star is set to be Michael C. Hall, which was announced in a suitably bizarre teaser last week.
Today sees the launch of the first song from the musical, entitled 'Advertising Ruins Everything'. Check out a video of Hall singing it with the cast below - and keep eyes peeled for the oh-so-subtle Skittles pack shots.
A series of songs from the musical have also appeared on Spotify. On top of 'Advertising Ruins Everything', there's 'This Might Have Been a Bad Idea' and 'This Definitely Was a Bad Idea', plus a bonus four-minute recording of Hall eating Skittles. Those sensitive to noisy eating, beware of that last one!
The campaign is created by DDB Chicago and the Broadway show is being produced by SMUGGLER, which is also handling production of the teaser films.
