With new Smartly integration and enhanced ad tools, Reddit aims to convert high-intent conversations into commerce—connecting brands with shoppers at the moment of decision

Reddit has a lot of shoppers looking for advice – it’s the #1 platform where conversations help users make an informed decision about a product or brand. In fact, 40% of posts on Reddit are commercial, making it a natural place to reach shoppers online. Today, we’re expanding Reddit’s shopping solutions to help marketers better reach Reddit’s high-intent, leaned-in communities.

Right Product, Right Person, Right Context

Whether it's choosing the right car or finding the best waterproof mascara, shoppers are increasingly turning to Reddit for trusted advice and real user recommendations. In fact, Reddit is where over half of all online conversations related to purchasing decisions take place.

The platform draws both active seekers – 'reddit' was the 6th most searched term on Google in the US in 20244 – and scrollers, with communities like r/buyitforlife attracting hundreds of thousands of daily visitors. Redditors also stand out as some of the most loyal consumers: 79% say, “once I find a brand I like, I stay loyal to that brand.” To help businesses grow, we’re introducing new tools designed to turn discovery into action and intent into conversions.

Reddit Shopping Solutions: Dynamic Product Ads now in GA

Since launching in beta last year, we've seen Reddit’s shopping solution – Dynamic Product Ads (DPA) – already deliver outsized performance for advertisers. In Q1 2025, advertisers who ran both Dynamic Product Ads and standard conversions campaigns saw 2x higher Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) with Dynamic Product Ads. We’ve also seen a remarkable 4x+ annual increase in the number of catalogues hosted on Reddit and featured in campaigns between March 2024 to March 2025.7 In light of this strong performance and enthusiastic reception we saw from beta testing, we’re excited to announce that Dynamic Product Ads are now launched in general availability in the Reddit Ads Manager.

Dynamic Product Ads on Reddit automatically generate personalised ad experiences by pulling from an advertiser's product catalogue in real time and intelligently matching products with the most engaged audiences and relevant conversations. It does this by analysing on-platform engagement on Reddit—such as the communities redditors join—as well as off-platform interactions with products through prospecting and retargeting. And with the general availability of this offering, we have applied key learnings from our beta to further enhance advertiser performance and ease of use. In fact, Dynamic Product Ads delivered an average of over 94% higher ROAS in Q1 compared to campaigns run last year.

Dynamic Product Ads on Reddit offer advertisers:

  • Instant campaign creation: Ads auto-populate with the latest images, pricing, and product details directly from an advertiser's catalogue.
  • Improved targeting and relevancy: Machine learning (ML) model improvements drive higher performance and ROAS.
  • Contextual relevance: Ads appear contextually within product conversations, making it easier for users to discover and buy products they're already discussing.
  • Enhanced onboarding and diagnostics: Advertisers can now build dynamic campaigns with larger catalogue sizes (including millions of products), access improved diagnostic capabilities to optimise and troubleshoot campaign set-up ahead of launch.

"At a time when nearly 50% of Americans struggle to determine what reviews and sources to trust online, Reddit stands out as a platform where 4-in-5 social media users rely on conversations to make confident decisions about products," said Jim Squires, EVP of business marketing and growth at Reddit. “Reddit’s Dynamic Product Ads allow brands to serve ads showing the right product to the right person in the right context—making every placement more relevant, contextual, and effective for shoppers on our platform.”

Success stories

Brands including home improvement store The Home Depot and furniture company Castlery have seen significant performance gains after adding Dynamic Product Ads to their Reddit campaign mix.

“The Home Depot was an early beta adopter of Reddit’s Dynamic Product Ads solution to reach customers lower in the funnel: in addition to this unit type affording us a turnkey creative option, it drove almost 400% higher incremental ROAS than our average across other social platforms,” said Dana Elrod, senior manager, media strategy at The Home Depot. “With compelling initial results from the beta, the team is excited to iterate and expand our usage of Dynamic Product Ads across relevant middle and lower funnel strategies on Reddit.”

“Buying furniture is a significant purchase decision, and consumers often actively seek unbiased, unfiltered reviews to feel confident in their purchase journey. Reddit, being the biggest platform for community conversations, offers a prime opportunity for us to tap into this behaviour,” said Mandy Lin, lead specialist for performance marketing at Castlery. “With Reddit ads, we’ve seen increased brand mentions on the platform, as well as increased cross-site traffic, which complements our existing ad strategy and helps us grow out our mid funnel through new methods.”
