72andSunny Amsterdam recently welcomed digital innovation consultancy Made by Many to the Westerhuis co-working space, embedded in the agency’s iconic office. Made by Many, the first partner move in, believe that a presence in The Netherlands will increase their reach, provide a more credible base from which to successfully serve their European clients, and mitigate any risk posed by Brexit. 72andSunny Amsterdam is excited to house a few handpicked progressive companies and startups, who can learn from each other’s curiosity and expertise.
The Westerhuis building, which was originally a technical college, has been 72andSunny’s Amsterdam home since its inception. Having outgrown the one room it first occupied, the creative company has taken over the majority of the 5-story building. 72andSunny is now welcoming like-minded partners to share space on the second floor, who will honour the legacy of the building as an open space for learning and craftsmanship. The Westerhuis co-working space offers expansive views of Amsterdam, meeting rooms, a large communal kitchen, as well as access to Hecho, 72andSunny’s in-house studio, whose facilities include a photo studio, maker space and eight world-class edit suites.
“At 72andSunny we believe setting yourself up as an expert is super dangerous and limiting, you always have to be a learner, always be curious,” said Nic Owen, President and Partner 72andSunny Amsterdam. “Welcoming some incredible, complementary companies into our home gives us more possibilities to learn and become smarter - hopefully, some really interesting opportunities will fall out of it too.”
Amsterdam’s role as a global business and tech hub makes it an obvious choice for Made by Many’s expansion.
“We were one of the first studios in the world to focus exclusively on helping corporate clients design and make breakthrough digital experiences, products and services. Fast forward to 2019 and experience design, digital services and products are completely mainstream. Every business is a digital business, or desperate to become one fast,” said Tim Malbon, founding partner of Made by Many. "Our worlds - at 72andSunny Amsterdam and Made by Many - are rapidly converging, and this is an incredibly exciting moment to be collaborating. Our two organisations share the same deep-seated values around diversity and inclusion and a burning mission to unlock the highest levels of creativity and cultural transformation within our clients’ businesses.”
Made by Many brings together small teams of highly experienced specialists to discover, make, launch, operate and scale new digital services and products that drive growth and transform organisations at every level from the inside out. The company has worked with Microsoft, Burberry, Spotify, Finnair, Carlsberg, the BBC, Coca-Cola European Partners and the World Economic Forum, amongst others.
