5 Gum’s New Campaign Inspires Teens to Live with #NoRegrets

This week, 5 Gum unveiled its newest creative campaign, “No Regrets,” an innovative, content-led initiative that’s taking aim at teens in a unique way – showcasing the very real, very raw stories of senior citizens sharing their biggest regrets.

A truly global initiative, No Regrets is centred on the stories of five seniors from the U.S., U.K., Spain and China, all sharing how one regret has shaped their lives in the hopes that they’ll inspire teens to live life to the fullest, and say “yes” when the seniors said “no.”

From Martin, a photographer who waited until age 85 to come out of the closet, to Stanford, a passionate swimmer who chose not to join the high school swim team because of racial peer pressure; are powerful, and they’ve already started to inspire real teens to share how they are fulfilling the regrets in their honour.


Though using seniors’ stories to reach teens may feel counter-intuitive, regret is a powerful, universal emotion for young and old.

A recent study conducted by 5 Gum found that 97% of teens and seniors have at least one regret that has shaped their lives thus far, and have an average of 16 specific regrets.

The brand has always encouraged teens to leave their comfort zones with promotions such as Truth or Dare, and through the content, the brand hopes that these real, powerful stories will give teens the extra push they need to truly live their best, authentic lives.
