WPP Open X announced today they are appointing Amelia Torode as chief strategy lead Europe. One of the industry’s most respected and leading strategists, Amelia brings a fresh and innovative approach to modern brand building. The appointment marks a return for Amelia to WPP after having started her career as a WPP Marketing Fellow in 1997.
Amelia brings with her a unique set of multi-disciplinary strategic experience spanning brand building and advertising, PR and social, communications planning well as digital and direct. Her agency roles have included chief strategy officer at TBWA\London, head of strategy and innovation at VCCP, strategy director at Naked Communications and partner at OgilvyOne. She has worked on clients such as Airbnb, Unilever, Microsoft, o2 and Comparethemarket.com. Most recently Amelia founded brand strategy and innovation consultancy, Fawnbrake where she ran global strategy hackathons for clients including Google, Carlsberg and Sky.
Amelia will report to Chris Binns, WPP Open X global chief strategy officer.
