This is a great time of year for advertising. The wave of British Christmas ads that come in early to mid November has broken and the US is busy eating turkey, deepening rifts within their families and getting themselves into credit card debt to help make Jeff Bezos even richer. But some really nice festive gems are surfacing from other markets, keeping our spirits up.
Publicis Conseil’s Christmas ad for the mobile network Orange is the perfect example of why we love writing about the international ad industry at this time of year. The campaign for the French market is pure absurdist joy, documenting one grandfather’s epic efforts to transform himself into a unicorn.
